Privacy Policy

1. What we collect, and why

We collect only what a verification needs, and only with consent given in the product, purpose by purpose:

• Candidates: identity documents (PAN, driving licence, Aadhaar offline e-KYC), employment details and employer contact, payslips and income-tax returns, a previous landlord's contact, and a public court-records search in your name — each only if you consent to that specific check.
• Owners: your contact details, the property address, and — if you opt into owner verification — your ID and property-ownership papers.
• Aadhaar, PAN and driving-licence numbers are masked before storage; we keep the confirmation, not the number.

2. What the other party sees

The owner sees the report's findings — matched, didn't match, could not verify — never your documents and never your document numbers. The candidate sees the owner-verification result. Both see the same report. There are no hidden comments, scores, or notes.

3. How long we keep things

Documents. We delete the documents you share with us when they are no longer needed for the verification you gave them for. In practice that is within 90 days after the owner makes their decision, within 30 days if the verification is called off, and within 90 days if the request expires before you complete it. If a verification is started and then simply goes quiet — never decided, never called off — we delete the documents within 180 days. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time and we will.

The verified facts, the report, the decisions recorded about it, and your consent records are kept as the proof of how the report was made — they are written once and never edited. If you want your record removed, write to us: we remove your name and identifiers from it (pseudonymization), keeping only the anonymous proof trail.

4. Who touches the data

Data is stored with our infrastructure provider in India (Mumbai region). Email reaches you through our email provider. When e-signing goes live, signature requests flow through our licensed e-sign provider. Each processes data only on our instructions. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else, and we show verification results only to the two parties to the rental.

5. Your rights

You can: see what you've consented to and withdraw any consent from your profile (we stop using it from that point; a report already delivered cannot be un-delivered); ask for correction of anything we got wrong; ask for removal as in §3; and complain. Grievances go to Supreeth Tata at hello@tenantgreen.com — we respond within 7 days. If our answer doesn't resolve it, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

6. Security, briefly

Access to documents is logged; report access is restricted to the parties; decision records cannot be edited after the fact; staff access is role-gated and audited.

7. Children

TenantGreen is for adults entering rental agreements; we do not knowingly process children's data.

The version on this page is the one in force; material changes are announced here with their date.
